麻将游戏赚钱On Dec. 11, our Facilities and Campus Services team was made aware of a pothole that shut down the westbound lanes of Northern Lights Boulevard between UAA Drive and Career Center Drive. It has since been upgraded to a sinkhole, and the lanes will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time while crews repair the damage. We anticipate the closure will extend through the week.

    UAA's First Year Advisors are your biggest cheerleaders and they want you to succeed as a Seawolf! First Year Advisors will not just work with you to register for classes, but they will also help you find answers to your UAA questions, connect you to resources that will support you academically, emotionally, physically, and socially, and be a listening ear on those stressful days. First year advising is here to welcome, connect, and prepare you for your academic journey at UAA!

  • Campus-Wide Advising Alignment 

    Established in the spring of 2019, the Academic Advising Steering Committee has been charged with providing strategic direction, policy recommendations, and implementation strategies that support student success through consistent and comprehensive advising across UAA. The Committee is specifically charged to develop:

    • Policy for consistency in hiring, training, and professional development of academic
      advisors
    • Strategy for standardization, as appropriate, for academic advisor position descriptions,
      evaluation mechanisms, and career laddering opportunities
    • Clarity in expectations for advisors’ use of advising tools and technology and
      mechanisms for accountability in fulfilling expectations
    • Common advising outcomes, metrics, and benchmarks, and mechanisms for reporting on
      each
    • A streamlined and strategic communication plan
    • A common advising campaign calendar for all primary academic advisors
    • A plan for reviewing best practices at peer institutions.

  • Academic Pathways (Baccalaureate Programs) 

    Creation 

    What do first-time, first year college students need to be successful with navigating their college experience?  They need a clear pathway to graduation, starting before their first day at UAA.  

    Academic Pathways (AP), also known as meta majors or career clusters, categorize individual majors into academic “umbrellas” that share a similar focus. The benefits of pathways include giving first year students information about various majors and career options within their general area of interest and allowing them time to build a strong foundation for success as they determine their choice of major. APs can also reduce the costs of switching majors for students. In Spring 2018, the Vice Provost held a series of open forums on student success including an exercise on whether or not meta-majors or academic pathways would be right for UAA. Nine Academic Pathways emerged from this process: Business, Engineering, Industry and Technical, Health, Humanities, Math and Natural Sciences, Service Professions, Social Sciences, and Visual and Performing Arts. 

    Implementation 

    A map of the first 15 credits was created for each of the nine pathways. These forms guide students through to a successful first year based on: (1) their level of preparation, (2) their career and major interests, (3) historical data on markers of success for UAA students in various courses and majors, and (4) completion of the key foundational courses that the UAA faculty have determined are necessary for success in a given degree path. 

    Each form is customized for the individual by their Academic Advisor prior to their advising appointment with their name, placement information, Academic Advisor contact information, courses specific to their placement levels, and additional notes as necessary.

    What is Seawolf Tracks?

    In Fall 2018, UAA launched Seawolf Tracks, a suite of interconnected electronic tools to help achieve our top priority: the success of our students!  The (EAB) developed Seawolf Tracks for UAA as part of their Student Success Collaborative — a network of colleges and universities across the country working to improve student persistence and graduation.  Seawolf Tracks combines technology, research, and predictive analytics to improve how academic advisors, faculty, and staff guide students to achieve their educational goals.

    麻将游戏赚钱Seawolf Tracks includes two valuable products – a mobile app and an advising platform - to keep students on an optimal academic track, connected to their advisors and campus resources, and making progress toward graduation.

    Connect with the “Seawolf Tracks” web page to download the app and learn how to use it.   

    麻将游戏赚钱A mobile app for students, Seawolf Tracks (called “Guide” in the App Store) streamlines the UAA experience through content that highlights university traditions, upcoming registration deadlines and personalized “to-dos”.  Students can connect with university resources through their network and access a comprehensive directory of student services.  They can use the app to:

    • get reminders about important deadlines, 
    • get help locating their classrooms and key offices on campus,
    • sync their class schedule with their phone calendar, and
    • get life and school tips for success in college,
    • schedule appointments with advisors and tutors through the app.

     

    The Seawolf Tracks Academic Advising Platform

    麻将游戏赚钱Seawolf Tracks provides a comprehensive view of a student’s degree progress based on 10 years of historical UAA data.  Advisors can see where and when a student might need help or intervention to stay on track or move to a different course.  In the future, Seawolf Tracks will become the best way for faculty, advisors, and student support staff to communicate with one another about the progress or concerns of each student.  Advisors can create campaigns targeted at specific groups of students, streamline appointment scheduling for the advisor and student, identify at-risk students more easily, send students automated reminders of appointments, and record and store session notes that can be accessed by other staff.

    麻将游戏赚钱Seawolf Tracks allows advisors to have informed conversations with students who are not on-track in their chosen majors, and to course-correct as early as possible. Sometimes that will mean suggesting interventions and other times exploring different majors or paths. Seawolf Tracks will use the power of UAA’s data to help our students find and complete their best academic path. And being a member of the Student Success Collaborative connects UAA to peer institutions, live webinars, major research on student success, and national student success summits.

  • Affordable Learning

    Textbook costs play a major role in the cost of a college education, and the high cost of textbooks directly undermines student success, access, and affordability -- central values of UAA’s 2020 mission. While low-cost alternatives to many textbooks exist, adopting affordable textbooks can be challenging for faculty. Worse, students may feel powerless to advocate for affordable textbooks if they believe they have no influence in faculty textbook adoptions.
